IRVINE, Calif. – UC Davis junior Sierra Atkins was named the Big West Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference office Tuesday.

The honor is the third of her career as she nabbed the accolade twice last season en route to helping lead the Aggies to the Big West title.

The Santa Rosa, Calif., native won the prestigious Bill Dellinger Invitational last week, blistering the 6k course at the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield, Ore., in 19:53.40. Atkins performance helped lead the Aggies to a runner-up finish in the packed field.

UC Davis will return to the trail on Friday, Sept. 30 at the Pacific Collegiate Invitational in Stockton.
