LA QUINTA, Calif. – The UC Davis men's golf team did not back down from its opening round lead to run away with the Big West Conference title, carding an 11-under 853 to equal the best 54-hole score in school history at the conference tournament.
For the second-straight year the Ags claimed the individual title as senior
Thomas Hutchison never relinquished his lead, sporting a 4-under 68 in the final round to win the event at a 13-under 203. Hutchison turned in a more than perfect card with no bogeys on the day and secured the team victory with an eagle on the par-4 16
th.

Lucas Carper got hot at the right time, shooting a 5-under 31 on the front nine to card his best round of the tournament with a 3-under 69 to finish 14
th overall.
Classmate
Mark Stephens finished t-4
th with a 1-under 215.
Jacob Westberg capped off the tournament with a 2-over 218 while senior
Shane Muldowney finished in t-32
nd with a 10-over 226.
The championship is the first since 2012 and the fourth under head coach
Cy Williams.
The Aggies will look to see where they are selected in the NCAA tournament as the Golf Channel will air the selection show at 1 p.m. PT.
