DALLAS — Curtis Da Silva carded a 2-under-par 70 Sunday to lead UC Davis men's golf in the opening round of the Trinity Forest Invitational at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
The senior is tied for 11th in the 90-player field, one stroke outside the top 10. UC Davis sits 16th in the 17-team field after posting an 8-over 296 on the par-72, 7,617-yard course.
Treed Huang and Ryan Firpo each shot a 2-over 74 to share 54th place. Zhenxian Zhang and Trenton Stuart are tied for 83rd after rounds of 78.
UNLV leads the team standings at 14-under 274, four strokes ahead of USC. East Tennessee State is third at 7-under 281.
USC's Deitrek Gill holds the individual lead after an 8-under 64, two strokes ahead of UNLV's Zach Little. Aaron Van Hauwe, also of UNLV, is third at 5-under 67.
The Aggies continue with the second round Monday, Oct. 5, before the tournament concludes Tuesday, Oct. 6.
