LA QUINTA, Calif. – The UC Davis men's golf team extended its lead at the Big West Conference Championship with its second-straight 5-under 283 to move to 10-under after the second round at the La Quinta Country Club. The Aggies boast a 13-stroke lead with a 10-under 566.
Senior
Thomas Hutchison continued his grasp on the individual lead with a 4-under 68 to move his two-round total to 9-under 135. Hutchison fired a 4-under 32 on the front-nine and tallied seven birdies in the round.
Sophomore
Jacob Westberg moved up to third in the competition with a 3-under 69 to sport a two-round score of 4-under 140. Westberg carded five birdies and showcased an unblemished 3-under 33 on the back nine.
Classmate
Mark Stephens secured three Aggies in the top-5 as he fired a 1-under 71. Stephens backed up his 71 from the first round with two birdies on the front nine and only one bogey that came on the par-4 18
th to end the day t-5
th.
Senior
Shane Muldowney (t-19
th) stayed in the top-20 with a 3-over 75 while sophomore
Lucas Carper rounded out the Ags with a 4-over 76 to enter the final round in 25th.
UC Davis will start the final round tomorrow at 8:50 a.m.
