DAVIS, CALIF. – The UC Davis men's golf team shot up the leaderboard on Thursday as the Aggies fired a 6-under 282 on moving day to improve to fifth place in the second round of the El Macero Classic.

Senior Thomas Hutchison jumped up to the lead with a 4-under 68 to pace the Aggies. Hutchison recorded an eagle on the par-5 fifth and sunk three birdies to get UC Davis back into contention.

Every Aggie carded a better round on Thursday as sophomore Lucas Carper used 2-under 70 to move up to 21^st place. Carper recorded four birdies on the day to move up the leaderboard.

Sophomore Jacob Westberg also moved up to help the Aggies as the Sacramento native finished the day with a 1-under 71.

Sophomore Mark Stephens rounded out UC Davis at 1-over 73, and classmate Alejandro Nava fired a 3-over 75. As an individual, senior Shane Muldowney continues to impress in his last tournament on his home course with a 3-under 69 to sit t-12th.

The Aggies will conclude their home tournament with a tee time of 8:30 a.m.
