Jennifer Gross is in her 11th year (18th overall at UC Davis) with a record of 195-120 (.619) overall and 110-52 (.679) in the Big West.
UC SAN DIEGO: Head Coach Heidi VanDerveer is in her 16th year overall with a record of 310-155 (.667), while posting a 202-74 (.732) mark at UC San Diego.
UC IRVINE: Tamara Inoue is in her sixth season overall as a head coach at UC Irvine, posting an 84-86 (.494) record.
IN THE RANKINGS: For the first time since the final poll of the 2019-20 season, the UC Davis women's basketball team has dropped out of the College Insider Mid-Major poll, but are among a group of 22 teams listed as those "receiving votes." The Aggies opened at No. 9 in the preseason rankings -- and reached as high as No. 10 in the regular season -- marking the highest for the program in that poll since the Aggies stood eighth on Feb. 27, 2018.
ABOUT THE TRITONS: UC San Diego enters the week with a 9-10 overall record and a 6-4 mark in Big West Conference play... After winning three straight, the Tritons dropped a pair at home to CSUN (53-45) and UC Santa Barbara (59-47) last week... UCSD is 3-4 on the road, but has won its last two with triumphs over Cal Poly (69-58) and CSU Bakersfield (64-59)... Sydney Brown leads the Tritons in scoring at 12.2 ppg while grabbing 8.2 rebounds per contest, shooting 38 percent from the field and 78 percent from the line... UC San Diego is averaging 60.1 ppg and shooting 37 percent from the field overall, holding opponents to 59.2 ppg and 35 percent shooting.
SERIES NOTES: UC Davis leads the all-time series with UC San Diego, 14-4, but the Tritons snapped a seven-game skid with a 59-56 win over the Aggies earlier this year in La Jolla... UC Davis is 7-1 at home against UCSD (with the locations of two games unknown), having won the last four following back-toback wins at the University Credit Union Center last season.
ABOUT THE ANTEATERS: UC Irvine enters the week with a 13-8 overall record and an 8-2 mark in Big West Conference play, sitting just a half-game behind Long Beach State for the top spot in the standings... The Anteaters have won four straight after wins over UC Santa Barbara (58-31) and CSUN (65-52)... UCI is 4-4 on the road, winning four straight after an 0-4 start... Kayla Williams leads the team in scoring at 14.3 ppg while shooting 39 percent from the field, while Chloe Webb is also in double figures, averaging 11.3 ppg and a team-high 5.6 rpg while shooting 47 percent from the floor... The Anteaters average 68.6 ppg and shoot .397 from the floor, holding opponents to 62.0 ppg and .389 shooting.
SERIES NOTES: UC Davis leads the all-time series with UC Irvine by a 32-10 count after the Anteaters handed the Aggies a 76-59 defeat in Orange County to tip-off UC Davis' conference schedule... The Aggies are 14-4 overall against UCI at home (with the location of two games unknown), having won the last six straight at the University Credit Union Center dating back to 2015.
