LA QUINTA, Calif. – The UC Davis men's golf team completed The Prestige tied for 11
th Wednesday at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
The Aggies had a full day of golf, completing the second round in the morning before closing out the third round in the afternoon.
UC Davis was led by senior
Thomas Hutchison, who finished fifth overall with a 3-over 216. Hutchison catapulted into contention by carding a 3-under 68 in round two before finishing with a 4-over 75 in the third round. The San Jose, Calif., native boasted six birdies in the second round and collected two birdies in the final round.
Sophomore
Lucas Carper used six birdies to post his lowest score of the tournament, carding a 1-over 72 in the final round. Carper finished tied for 33
rd overall with an 11-over 224.
Sophomore
Jacob Westberg capped off The Prestige by shooting a 4-over 75 to finish tied for 68
th with a 16-over 229. Classmate
Mark Stephens finished tied for 86
th with an 18-over 231, while sophomore
Alejandro Nava rounded out the Aggies at 112
th with a 25-over 238.
The Aggies return to the course when they head south to Chula Vista to compete in the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic. The competition begins on Monday, March 7.
