LA QUINTA, Calif. – The UC Davis men's golf team sits tied for seventh place at The Prestige after carding an opening-round 11-over 295, Monday on the Greg Norman PGA West Course.

Senior Thomas Hutchison and sophomore Mark Stephens paced UC Davis with identical 2-over-73s, to open the tournament tied for 24^th place.

Hutchison birdied the par-4 ninth and then was also in the red on the par-5 16^th. Stephens birdied the par-4 third and also birdied the par-5 16^th.

Sophomore Alejandro Nava followed tied for 32^nd with a 3-over 74. Nava birdied the par-3 fourth and the par-4 11^th. Classmate Jacob Westberg is in a tie at 54^th place after carding a 4-over 75. The sophomore collected a birdie on the par-4 18^th.

Sophomore Lucas Carper rounded out the Aggies with a 5-over 76 to sit tied for 64^th after the round. Carper birdied the par-4 14^th.
