Women’s Basketball Wraps Up Road Trip in Spokane

DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis women's basketball team (3-4) travels to Washington for a Sunday afternoon matchup against No. 22 Gonzaga University (8-2). The game that will tip at 2 p.m. will wrap up the Aggies month-long road trip.

LAST WEEK
The Aggies traveled to Moraga for a game against Saint Mary's. The two teams were tied after three quarters. The Aggies started the fourth on a 9-0 run, but the Gaels finished the game on an 18-4 run for the 58-53 victory.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Gonzaga leads the all-time series at 3-1. The Aggies won the last game of the series, 69-66, on December 19th, 2021, in Davis.
 
GROSS ONE WIN AWAY FROM HISTORY
With the win over University of the Pacific, Jennifer Gross earned her 204th victory as head coach of the Aggies. She is now one win away from tying Jorja Hoehn for second place on the all-time wins list.
 
TURNER LEADS THE WAY
Evanne Turner continued her hot start to the season from behind the three-point line. The junior from Fontana leads the Big West Conference in three pointers (24), three-point attempts (63) and three point attempts per game (3.43). The three-point attempts per game mark also places her third in the nation in that category. Turner also leads the Big West Conference in points (130), points per game (18.6) and field goal attempts (145).
 
BLOCK PARTY FOR MEGAN JONES
Megan Jones ranks in the top three in the Big West Conference in blocks (11 – 2nd) and blocks per game (1.57 – 3rd). Jones also ranks in the top 90 in the nation in both of those categories.
 
HISTORY LESSON
After Sunday's game against the Bulldogs, the Aggies will start a three-game homestand. The longest homestand in recent history was four games in 2019.
 
NEXT TIME OUT
The Aggies will return home to the friendly confines of University Credit Union Center for the first time in almost a month. The Aggies will host NAIA opponent William Jessup University at 6 pm on December 15th.
