DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis women's basketball is less than a week from opening its final Big West season, and the team's upperclassmen are ready to make an impact for their squad.
With two transfers coming in along with a number of veteran leaders of years past, this Aggie team is set to make another deep run after making it to the Big West Championship Game the last two seasons.
Junior - Tegan Young
After spending two years at Manhattan University in New York City, Young comes to the West Coast to join the Aggies ahead of her junior season.
In her sophomore season with the Jaspers, Young ranked fifth on her squad, averaging 8.3 points per game while making 36 threes on 32% shooting. Her best game came against Mount St. Mary's on January 25, when she scored a career-high 23 points on 7-of-10 (70%) shooting.
Senior - Nya Epps
A Big West All-Defense and Honorable Mention a year ago, Epps returns for her fourth season in the blue and gold after averaging a career-high 8.4 points last year.
Against San Diego State on November 8, Epps exploded for a career-high 26 points. In a conference matchup with Long Beach State on February 8, she had another 20+ point performance with 24 on the night.
Senior - Ally Fitzgerald
A former transfer from the University of Colorado, Fitzgerald enters year three with the Aggies after appearing in 30 games a year ago.
Against Cal Maritime on December 28, Fitzgerald broke her career-high with 13 points. She also finished third on the team in blocks with 17 and second in three-point percentage at 40%.
Redshirt Senior - Victoria Baker
Now in her fourth season with UC Davis, Baker continues to be the motor in the team's engine after appearing in all 33 games for her team a season ago.
In 2024-25, she scored in double-digits six times, including tying her career-high with 16 points in the season-opener against Simpson (CA) on November 4. She also scored 15 points to help lead her team to a win over Long Beach State on February 6.
Redshirt Senior - Megan Norris
A Second-Team All-Big West selection last season and a Big West Preseason selection ahead of this season, Norris is primed for another fantastic season with the Aggies.
Last year, Norris finished top ten in the Big West in multiple categories, including finishing tenth with 11 points per game, third with 7.6 rebounds per game, and first with a 44.4% field goal percentage. In an overtime win against Santa Clara on November 24, she broke out with a career-high 30 points.
Graduate Student - Helen Matthews
Previously spending five seasons at Wofford College, Matthews joins UC Davis after landing on the 2024-25 Southern Conference All-Conference First Team a year ago.
Averaging 11.5 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Terriers last season, Matthews scored 20+ points three separate times, including a season-high 24 in a home win over Western Carolina on January 18.
The 2025-26 UC Davis season will tip off on Monday, Nov. 3, when the Aggies host William Jessup at 7:30 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ for all fans.
