Thomas Hutchison finished with six birdies on the day en route to the team's low round of 69 on Sunday, while freshman
Alejandro Nava stood tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard following his 1-under 71, helping the Aggies into a tie for third after 36 holes of the seventh annual El Macero Classic at the El Macero Country Club.
Finishing at 3-under for the day as a team, UC Davis slipped one spot in the team standings alongside Fresno State at 9-under after two days. The Aggies are one shot back of day one leader Saint Mary's in second place, while San Francisco bullied its way up the leaderboard into the lead following an 11-under 277 on Sunday, pacing the Gaels by four shots.
Hutchison was 1-under on the front and 2-under on the back en route to tying his season-low round. The junior moved up five spots into a tie for eighth, standing just one shot back of his teammate Nava, who finished in the red for the second straight day with birdies on the first and 14th holes before a bogey on the 16th.
Returning freshman
Jacob Westberg, who was in a tie for third with Nava after Saturday's opening round, remained among the top 15 following a 1-over 73 on Sunday with help from birdies on the second and 18th holes. Westberg is tied for 14th in the field at 2-under heading into Monday's final round.

Mark Stephens finished his second round with a 74 to stand tied for 29th after 36 holes, while returning freshman
Lucas Carper was eight shots better than his day one score, firing a second-round 72 to move up nine spots into a tie for 64th to round out the scoring group.
Returning sophomore
Daniel Kim, competing as an individual, stands in a tie for 53rd following his second straight 75, while junior
Shane Muldowney is tied for 77th after a second straight 79.
Four miles away at the Wildhorse Classic Individual Tournament, returning freshman
Michael Shaw fired a second round 74 to stand tied for 14th after two days at 6-over par.
