UC DAVIS-WEBER STATE SERIES
Saturday's game is the eighth meeting in a series that began during UC Davis Division I reclassification era... The Aggies won two of the first three matchups: Sept. 18, 2004 (31-29) and Sept. 29, 2012 (37-13), but the Wildcats have claimed the last four...  The 2012 victory over Weber State has the unusual distinction of being UC Davis' first-ever Big Sky Conference win... The Aggies previously competed in the Great West Conference... Weber State won the 2019 meeting, 36-20, but the game featured one of the most exciting plays of the year: Jaylin White's 100-yard kickoff return touchdown... He became the third player in school history to achieve such a feat, joining Namane Modise (2017) and John Nedderman (1948).

UC DAVIS LAST WEEK
The Aggies upset then-No. 19 Idaho, 27-17, getting individual feats from up and down the roster... Offensively, junior RB Ulonzo Gilliam, Jr. ran for 145 net yards – his ninth career 100-plus rushing game and the 16th game with 100-plus combined yards from scrimmage... Junior WR Carson Crawford made his return to action with 8 receptions for 120 yards and two TDs, while adding a 36-yard pass of his own (to Jared Harrell)... Freshman WR Lan Larison made his collegiate debut with 10-for-66 rushing in his home state... Larison hails from Caldwell, some 300 miles south of Moscow on the Oregon border... Junior Hunter Rodrigues ushered in his era as the starting Aggie QB in strong fashion: 23 of 29, 243 yards, three TDs and no interceptions... In fact, the Aggies committed no turnovers in the contest, the first game with no giveaways since both Cal Poly and Southern Utah in 2019.

On the defensive end, senior LB and co-captain Connor Airey posted 10 tackles (5 solo, 5 assist) with 2 TFLs, a 7-yard sack, a 14-yard interception and a QB hurry... His performance won Big Sky Conference Player of the Week, both from the league itself and by College Sports Madness... Airey was also an honorable mention for Stats Perform's national weekly awards... Safety Chris Venable notched 8 tackles with 2 PBUs, while fellow safety Isaiah Thomas added 7 stops and a pick... Thomas now has four career interceptions: one at Stanford in 2018, two against Cal Poly in 2019, and one against the Vandals.

TO BEAT THE BEST
Saturday's win over Idaho marks the first time UC Davis has beaten a team ranked in the Stats Perform Top 25 (previously STATS, Inc and The Sports Network) since a 22-21 win at Cal Poly on November 13, 2010... UC Davis trailed 21-0 early in that contest, but scored 22 unanswered to snipe an upset of then-No. 19/18 Mustangs... Randy Wright, now a quality control staffer for UC Davis, threw for 302 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Sean Credick in the comeback... During the decade since, the Aggies have notched numerous wins over teams receiving votes in the poll, including the recent 2019 thriller at USD and the 2018 NCAA playoff victory against Northern Iowa... The Sept. 15, 2012 win at South Dakota State took place two weeks before the Jackrabbits entered the Top 25.

HISTORY HAS ITS EYES ON YOU
With 145 rushing yards on Saturday, Gilliam raised his career total to 2,370, moving him from sixth to fourth on the school career Top 10 list... His next target is Ron Austin, who rushed for 2,968 ticks in 1977-80... G.P. Muhammad (3,589) and Preston Jackson (3,325) hold the top two spots... Impressively, Jackson put up all but 64 of those yards in his final two seasons...  Gilliam also moved up to No. 4 on the career attempts list with 455, with Jackson (539) next in line... He remains fifth in rushing TDs at 25, with Jermaine Rucker (1995-96) and Muhammad (1995-98) tied for third with 28 each.

I.T. SPECIALIST
DB Isaiah Thomas' interception at the Aggie 27-yard line stopped an Idaho scoring threat in the final minutes of the first half, but his less-heralded role as punt returner puts him in the school record book... He had runbacks of 10 and 8 yards on Saturday, raising his career total to 413... Thomas needs 29 more to surpass Jess Oliva (2001-04) for 5th in UC Davis history... However, no player may ever catch that school benchmark: Armin Anderson logged 1,176 yards in his career from 1983-85... Best known for never calling for a fair catch, the 5-foot-7 Anderson still holds NCAA Division II records for punt returns in a season (61) and career (153), with his yardage total of 1,176 yards almost doubling the next Aggie on the list.
