2021 SPRING: ALL-BIG SKY CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM... Earned team’s CASEY MERRILL AWARD as most outstanding defensive player... Led Aggies in total tackles (37) and tackle assists (19)... Ranked 11th in Big Sky in tackles (7.6), 8th in TFLs (0.90)... Posted 10 stops on two occasions: 5-5-10 at Idaho (3/6), 5-5-10 vs. Eastern Washington (4/3)... Also had 2.0 TFLs for 8 yard including a 7-yard sack, a QB hurry and a 14-yard INT return against the Vandals, earning Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
2019: Ranked third on team with 76 total tackles (47 solos, 29 assists)... Added 2.5 TFLs for 16 years, 2.0 of which were sacks... Also had four pass breakups, three QB hurries and a fumble recovery... Picked up a Nick Eaton-forced fumble early in the third quarter vs. North Dakota State (9/21)... Posted at least 5 stops in every game except Lehigh home opener (9/14), including career-high 10 at Southern Utah (10/19)... Also had 9 tackles and a QBH at San Diego (9/7).
2018: Competed in all 13 games… Ended the 201ˆ8 season with the following Big Sky ranking: No. 13 in total sacks (4.0)… Recorded 51 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, for a collective 35 yards, and four sacks… Set a career high at Cal Poly (10/20) with seven tackles… Also forced a fumble in that game… Blocked the first kick of his career against Idaho (9/22)… Recorded a pass breakup at Stanford (9/15) and at Eastern Washington (11/10)… Season-high seven tackles, which included a tackle for loss, took place at Cal Poly… Earned five or more tackles in five of the team’s final seven games.
2017: Saw action in all 11 games of the season during his redshirt freshman year, recording 23 total tackles... Picked up nine solo and 14 assisted tackles, including a season-high five tackles at Northern Arizona (10/21)... Also recorded an assisted tackle for loss versus Cal Poly (10/28) and a sack for loss of five yards at Sacramento State (11/18) ... Placed pressure on opposing offenses all season long, recording a forced fumble versus Cal Poly and quarterback hurry at Idaho State (11/4).
2016: Redshirted.
SERVITE HS '16: Played linebacker for Friars, picking up 41 tackles (seven for loss), five sacks and one interception his junior year... Earned All-Trinity League First Team and al All-Orange County Third Team his senior season... Posted 92 tackles (15 for loss), six sacks and two interceptions.
PERSONAL: Born in Fullerton, Calif.... Parents are Matthew and Christy Airey.... Has two siblings, Garrett and Shane... Cites being a senior captain for the football team as his proudest personal accomplishment... Chose UC Davis because of the great community and opportunity to get a great education and play Division I football.
