Aggies finish tied for 25th at Stanford

Westberg's final-round 70 leads to a tie for 53rd

STANFORD, Calif. — Returning freshman Jacob Westberg fired a final round 70 to lead the UC Davis scoring group as the Aggies wrapped up the 51st annual The Goodwin in a tie for 25th place on Saturday afternoon at the Stanford University Golf Course.

Standing at even-par for the day, Westberg's 70 was the Sacramento native's second-lowest round of the season, trailing only his first-round 67 to start The Prestige to open the season. Westberg bogeyed his first and final holes of the day with birdies on No. 14 and No. 1 in between to wrap up his day, ending the three-day event in a tie for 53rd — 16 places higher that where he started the day.

True freshman Alejandro Nava finished with a final round 73 to end the day in a tie for 59th, returning junior Thomas Hutchison carded a 74, playing the front nine even after opening on No. 10, to finish in a ie for 94th.

Mark Stephens and Lucas Carper wrapped up the scoring group in a tie for 134th and a tie for 140th, respectively.

UC Davis heads to Arizona in two weeks for its next competition, joining the field at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on April 5-6 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
