STANFORD, Calif. -- Freshman
Abby Leighton followed up her opening round with an even-par 71 on Saturday, closing her day with three birdies on the front nine to lead the UC Davis women's golf team on day two of the Stanford Intercollegiate.
Standing at 2-over for the weekend thus far, Leighton moved up four spots into a tie for 29th, besting her previous collegiate low of 72 set in the first round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate by a single stroke.
Naomi Danner carded a pair of birdies en route to a second-round 75, standing in a tie for 61st at 9-over for 36 holes. Meanwhile, freshmen
Marina Mata and
Elle Rastvortseva are tied for 83rd, while sophomore
Linette Jun stands in 86th.
