DAVIS, Calif. – Junior managerial economics major Christine Danielsson will compete as an individual for the second time in as many seasons when she heads to the Cle Elum NCAA Regional at Tumble Creek Club in Washington. Danielsson's three-day pursuit for a coveted spot in the national championships will begin on Monday when she tees-off on Hole 10 at 10:10 a.m.

With her selection, UC Davis' streak of NCAA Regional appearances was extended to 12 years — a remarkable feat enjoyed by a select group of Division I programs in the nation.

In addition to the Cle Elum site, the other three regional locations are in East Lansing, Michigan (Michigan State); Norman, Oklahoma (Oklahoma) and Auburn, Georgia (Auburn). From each site, the top six teams and three individuals (from non-advancing teams) at each site will advance to the national championships, hosted by Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at Blessings Golf Club from May 17-22.

Danielsson's invitation to the Cle Elum Regional was the latest highlight in a month filled with career milestones.

During the first week of April, UC Davis won the Fresno State Classic thanks to Danielsson's outstanding play. By posting a career-low 7-under (209) result, she earned her first individual championship as an Aggie in the team's final tournament of the regular season.

Two weeks later at the Big West Conference Championship, league officials named her Women's Golf Player of the Year, in addition to bestowing all-conference first team honors. With that announcement, Danielsson won one of the league's major awards, and collected the first All-Big West honor of her career.

Teams competing in Danielsson's regional include No. 1 USC, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 9 South Carolina, No. 16 Northwestern, No. 19 Washington, No. 23 Miami, Oregon, San José State, Oregon State, Old Dominion, Iowa State, San Diego State, UCF, Ohio State, Sacramento State, New Mexico State, Boston University and Southern Illinois.

Sophie Hausmann (Idaho), Rose Huang (BYU), Polly Mack (UNLV), Elizabeth Prior (UNLV) and Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan (Southern Utah) are Cle Elum's other individual participants.
