Lilly adds towering presence to Aggies’ frontcourt

Southern California native becomes fourth signee for 2019-20

DAVIS, Calif. — The Aggies frontcourt gained a towering addition on Tuesday, as El Dorado High School's Kenedy Lilly signed a National Letter of Intent to join the three-time defending Big West Conference champion UC Davis women's basketball team, Head Coach Jennifer Gross announced.

Lilly, who stands 6-foot-5, is the fourth Aggie signee for the class of 2019, joining guards Evanne Turner (Fontana, Calif. / Etiwanda HS '19) and Campbell Gray (Tigard, Ore. / Tigard HS '19), as well as forward Megan Jones (Ayr, Scotland / Charnwood College '19).

"Kenedy is a true center with great size and strength as well as a soft touch around the basket," Gross said. "She is capable of having a major impact on the defensive end of the floor where she has a strong ability to protect the rim. We are impressed with her work ethic and character and believe that those traits will give her limitless potential within our program. Our staff is excited to help her develop her skillset while she earns her degree in biology here at UC Davis."

The Yorba Linda, Calif., native recently wrapped up her senior season with the Golden Hawks, helping lead her team to a 21-7 overall record, a North Hills League title (the team's first since 2002) and the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2A playoffs — the team's third CIF playoff berth in her four prep seasons.

A three-time All-North Hills League selection — including league Most Valuable Player honors as a senior — Lilly scored a school-record 57 points against California HS at the Covina Classic — just four points shy of the Orange County record of 61 set in 1990-91. She also had another 50-point game, adding 22 rebounds against El Monte HS in the same tournament as a junior.

She finished with 19 points as a member of the North team at the 54th North-South Orange County All-Star game, helping lead her team to a 79-73 victory.

Off the court, Lilly has worked with the Special Olympics' Unified Sports program, dedicated to promoting inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences and joining people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team.
