DAVIS, Calif. -- UC Davis sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Mathieson captured Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday evening. She becomes the first Aggie to earn a second award in 2019, having won the same accolade on March 25.

Mathieson had eight of her stops during the Aggies' 12-0 run from the 18th through 42nd minutes, a span that turned a 6-1 deficit into a 13-6 lead. She also made four total saves against Bulldog eight-meter shots.
Saturday's win marked Mathieson's fifth start since taking over the starting job as part of her return from a preseason injury. In that span, she has 61 saves against 56 goals (.521) with 15 ground balls in 290 minutes.
