DAVIS, Calif. — Senior Erinn Beattie is set to compete in Birmingham, Ala. at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships as the first Aggie in UC Davis Division I program history. Beattie will compete in not one, but two events at the national championship — the pentathlon and the high jump.

NCAA Indoors will run March 8-9, with Beattie starting her first title bid on Friday, Mar. 8 at 12:15 PM CST (10:15 AM PST) in the pentathlon 60m hurdles. Following the 60h, the pentathlon progresses through the high jump, shot put, long jump, and the 800m run, in that order. Beattie enters the championships seeded ninth overall, with her school record of 4,185 points earned at the 2019 MPSF Championships two weeks ago

On Saturday, Beattie will take to the high jump pit at 1 PM CST (11 AM PST), aiming to better her performance at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Nationals, where she jumped the winning height of 1.82m (5-11.05) and placed second due to attempts, earning her All-America status. Beattie's indoor personal best mark of 1.83m (6-00.00) puts her tied for sixth heading into the NCAA's, and she will compete as the first athlete on the start list.

The 2019 indoor season has continued where she left off in the 2018 outdoor season, as Beattie has tied her own indoor high jump record of 1.83 (6-00.00), broken her own pentathlon record by over 100 points (4,185 points), and broken a 21-year old indoor long jump record, leaping 5.86m (19-02.75). Beattie also saw PR's in the 60m hurdles, sitting second in the indoor all-time record book (8.69), as well as the shot put, where she recorded an indoor or outdoor PR of 11.30m (37-01.00).

ESPN3 is slated to broadcast the championships live, beginning at 5:30 PM CST (3:30 AM PST) on Friday, just in time for the final event of the pentathlon, the 800m. On Saturday, the stream picks up at 4 PM CST (2 PM PST), but Beattie's high jump is set to begin at 1 PM CST (11 AM PST).
