Hutchison fires Aggies' low round at Goodwin

UC Davis returns to action at Wyoming's Cowboy Classic (Apr. 8-9)

STANFORD, Calif. -- Sophomore Thomas Hutchison fired a 1-over-par 71 for UC Davis' best round of the tournament, wrapping up action at the 50th edition of The Goodwin, Stanford's premier spring collegiate men's golf tournament. Hutchison finished with a 10-over total of 220 strokes and a share of 60th place in the final individual standings.

As a team, UC Davis finished 25th with 902 total strokes, scoring a 299 in Saturday's third and final round. Freshman Daniel Kim shot a 4-over 74, redshirt freshman Shane Muldowney carded an 8-over 78 and senior Jesse Bratz turned in a 6-over 76 to compile the Aggies' team score. Kim placed T90th individually, with Muldowney and Bratz finishing T109th and T117th, respectively. Senior Ryan Han rounded out the UC Davis lineup, shooting an 83 on Saturday toward his 241-stroke final table.

Stanford dominated its home course with a 274 on Saturday and an 8-under total of 832 for the championship. No. 6-ranked USC finished second, 18 strokes behind its Pac-12 Conference rival at 10-over 850, with No. 5 Oklahoma finishing third with an 854 total. The individual title came down to a playoff between two Cardinal players: David Snyder and 14th-ranked Brandon Wu, each of whom finished at 4-under 206.

The Goodwin, named after the former Stanford mens' golf coach Wally Goodwin, featured 135 players and 27 teams, and took place on The Farm's newly renovated par-70, 6,758-yard campus course.

UC Davis returns to action at Wyoming's Cowboy Classic, held at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona on April 8 and 9.
