Taylor Mathieson came off the bench to post eight saves, but UC Davis ultimately fell to Lehigh by a 14-5 final in collegiate women's lacrosse action at San Diego State's Aztec Lacrosse Field Tuesday afternoon.
The Mountain Hawks improve to 4-3 for the year. The Aggies even their record to 5-5.
Alvear scored both of her goals during the first half, after which UC Davis trailed, 8-2.

Anna Hofgard each netted goals in the second. Mathieson also had a team-high four ground balls while defender
Addie Dearden led UC Davis with a pair of caused turnovers.
For Lehigh, Sondra Dickey scored four goals while Hannah Cermack recorded four of her team's seven assists. The Mountain Hawks never trailed in the contest, crafting a 3-0 lead within the first six minutes, extending to the 8-2 halftime edge, then moving to as much as a 10-2 advantage by the 42nd minute.
UC Davis returns home to host Radford on Saturday. First draw is 2 p.m. at Aggie Stadium.
