TOKYO  — Three former, current, and future UC Davis women's lacrosse players are set to represent the Aggies on the international stage at the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Tokyo, Japan, held July 24 to Aug. 2. Former Aggie Lauren Hart will compete for Team England, while current student-athlete Ruby Montanez and incoming freshman Liz Kerr will represent Team Puerto Rico.

Hart, a four-year letterwinner from 2021-24, returns to Team England for her second consecutive summer of international competition after helping her home country to a fifth-place finish at the 2025 World Games. During her UC Davis career, Hart established herself as one of the Aggies' top midfielders, helping the program capture the 2021 MPSF Championship as a freshman and recording a career-best 11 goals during her junior season.

Montanez will make her international debut with Team Puerto Rico after appearing in eight games as a freshman for the Aggies in 2025. The defender started three contests, caused five turnovers, and gained valuable experience competing in one of the nation's strongest conferences.

Joining Montanez on Team Puerto Rico is incoming freshman midfielder Liz Kerr, a recent graduate of Northern California powerhouse San Ramon Valley High School. During her first two varsity seasons with the Wolves, Kerr helped lead the program to a combined 44-1 record while capturing back-to-back East Bay League titles in the highly competitive California North Coast Section.

England and Puerto Rico open tournament play against each other on Thursday, July 24, at 11:30 p.m. PT. Both teams will also face Scotland and Argentina during group play before the knockout rounds begin on Wednesday, July 29. The tournament concludes with the gold medal game on Sunday, Aug. 2.
