SEATTLE, Wash. — The distance crew finished the second day of the MPSF Indoor Championships with three personal best times, along with Kirsten Carter in the 400m. Thanks to Erinn Beattie's fourth place finish in the high jump, UC Davis added four and a half points to finish with a total of 22.5 points for 12th out of 19 teams, ahead of three Pac-12 schools, and two Big West programs.
Finishing with the first personal best of the day, Carter finished 18th in the 400m, and ran a PR time of 57.07 for the fastest time of the indoor season in the event.
In the 800m, freshman Anaya Ward continued her trend of bettering her time with each indoor meet, and finished with a drastic improvement for a PR time of 2:10.90. Ward cut nearly four seconds off her previous lifetime best time, and now sits fifth in the indoor record book.
To close the MPSF Championships, Sarah Anderson and Julia Lemak wrapped up action in the 3000m with two PR times, finishing 30th and 40th, respectively, in a field with top competition and a new MPSF meet record. Anderson's 9:46.05 is nearly 20 seconds faster than her previous outdoor 3000m time, and the fastest indoor 3000m since 2015. Also breaking the ten-minute threshold for the first time in her career, Lemak shaved off just over 15 seconds to finish in 9:52.62
