Kim fires 72 on final round of 19th Prestige

Sophomore Thomas Hutchison led Aggies with t6th finish

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Freshman Daniel Kim shot UC Davis' low final round of 1-over-par 72 while sophomore teammate Thomas Hutchison notched his fourth top-10 finish of the year with his tie for sixth on the individual leaderboard, as action wrapped up at the 19th Prestige Presented by Charles Schwab collegiate golf tournament at PGA WEST's Greg Norman Course Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies totaled 304 strokes during Wednesday's final round to move into a final 15th-place finish at 898. LSU placed all five of its entrants among the top five individuals for forge a winning 838 total, 14 under par. Top-ranked Oklahoma State finished second at 844 while Pepperdine placed third with an 857 total.

OSU's Viktor Hovland captured the individual championship, carding a 5-under 66 on Wednesday to finish at 8-under 205 for the title. He outdueled Stanford's Brandon Wu by a single stroke, while holding off LSU's Philip Barbaree, who sank back-to-back eagles en route to a 66 final round and a 208 total.

Hutchison rebounded from a tough first nine holes with two birdies on the front nine en route to a 76 on Wednesday. The 2018 Big West Conference Freshman of the Year ended up in a tie for sixth place overall, matching LSU's Luis Gagne's 211 total.

Kim drained birdies on 11 and 12 to kick off his final round, eventually settling into a tie for 57th place – a jump of 13 spots on the individual leaderboard. His Wednesday 72 gave him a final total of 227. Senior Tanner Hughes finished three strokes back from Kim in a tie for 66th, while fifth-year Jesse Bratz rounded out the Aggies' team total with his 69th-place 231 total.  Junior Jae Kim completed his first UC Davis tournament in 80th place at 244 strokes.
