TULSA, Okla. — Making the first appearance in doubles at the ITA All-American Championships in UC Davis Division I program history, junior Ivan Thamma and senior David Goulak fell in the opening round of the qualifying draw.
After two consecutive days of singles competition for Thamma, the UC Davis duo took the first set 6-2 over Texas A&M's Pranav Kumar and Hady Habib. The second set, however, did not end in the same manner, as the TAMU Aggies would go on to win the match 7-5, and 10-2 in the third set tiebreaker.
UC Davis will have the next two weekends off in preparation for the ITA Northwest Regional, hosted this year at Stanford on Oct. 24-28.
