Men’s Tennis’ Season Comes To An End In Big West Semifinals Against UC Santa Barbara

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Singles wins that tied the match at two apiece weren't enough for UC Davis men's tennis, whose 2025-26 season came to an end with a 2-4 loss to UC Santa Barbara in the Big West Semifinals on Friday, Apr. 24.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Heading into the third set of doubles, with things tied at one, the duo of DiGiulio and Taheri fought till the very end, but ultimately dropped the point with a 4-6 loss.
  • UC Davis bounced back nicely to begin the singles portion of competition, taking two of the first three with wins from Taheri and Savkin.
  • In the first court, with the Gauchos looking to clinch the match, Lucca Liu outdueled Bollinger in a three set win with a 6-4 victory in the third.
  • With Santa Barbara up 4-2, the sixes would go unfinished, as UC Davis' season would come to an end.
