DAVIS, Calif. – On Monday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2026 Division I Men's ITA Scholar Athletes, recognizing UC Davis'
Kaveh Taheri among this year's honorees.
Taheri earned the distinction following a standout sophomore campaign that saw him receive First Team Singles All-Big West honors after posting a 13-6 overall singles record while tying for the team lead in victories. He went 12-5 at the No. 2 singles position, finished 3-2 in conference play and added a victory at the NCAA Championships. Taheri also teamed with Perry DiGiulio to reach the Round of 16 at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships.
The ITA Scholar Athlete award recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the court and in the classroom. To earn the honor, players must maintain a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale throughout the academic year.
