RIVERSIDE, Calif. --
Holden Tamblyn scored a hat trick while three other Aggies each chipped in two goals, leading No. 8 UC Davis to a 12-10 win over No. 15 California Baptist in Western Water Polo Association men's action at Lancer Aquatic Center Saturday.
The Aggies to move to 7-3 for the year, and open conference play at 1-0. The Lancers move to 6-7 overall and 0-1 in WWPA games.

Nir Gross each scored two goals for UC Davis.

Yurii Hanley chipped in one apiece, while sophomore goalkeeper
Jonah Addington notched five saves with three steals.
For CBU, Dominick Nevarez led his team with three goals and two assists.
UC Davis never trailed in the contest, with Goldschmidt opening the scoring with a five-meter penalty goal. Tamblyn hit his first goal on a power play in the first quarter, then hit a five-meter of his own with 1:46 in the secnd to extend the Aggie lead to 5-2. Tamblyn then completed his hat trick with yet another successful penalty shot midway through the third.
The Aggies led 3-1 through the first quarter, held on to a 5-4 lead at the halftime break. However, they posted six goals in the third, including three in the span of two minutes to extend the margin to as much as 11-6. CBU hit a buzzer-beater to end the third, then netted three more in the fourth, but never cut the deficit to fewer than three goals.
UC Davis continues WWPA play at Santa Clara on September 29, then returns home to host UCLA on the following Sunday.
