IRVINE, Calif. — Following All-Big West academic nods last month, eight members of the UC Davis men's water polo team were announced as a part of the 2025 ACWPC All-Academic team, reflecting excellence for the Aggies both in and out of the pool.
The ACWPC (Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches) encapsulates collegiate teams across the country, ranging from division one to division three programs. The All-Academic list seeks to recognize the scholarly prowess and efforts dedicated to the classroom by the men's water polo athletes across the nation.
Criteria on the All-Academic list is broken down into three categories; "Outstanding" encapsulates students with a 4.0-3.71 GPA, "Superior" features those with 3.70-3.41 GPAs, and "Excellent" has student-athletes who achieved 3.40-3.20 GPAs.
Having already been named the National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Elite Scholar-Athlete Winner,
Timothy Kerr leads off the list with a "Superior" award after achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. This is the third straight "Outstanding" of Kerr's career.
The "Superior" list includes
Baxter Chelsom,
Brody Crouch, Oriol Vinas, and
Thomas Marr. Chelsom makes it as a "Superior" for the third straight season, while this is Crouch's second season on the list. This honor marks the first of the careers for both Vinas and Marr.
Rounding things out in the "Excellent" category is
Austin Quick,
Oleg Shatskikh, and
Will Stryker. 2025 marks the third All-Academic honor for Stryker, who receives his first "Excellent" award, while both Quick and Shatskikh make the list for the first time.
In addition to individual honors, UC Davis was also one of 45 colleges and universities to receive a team honor from the ACWPC for achieving a collective 3.0 or higher team GPA.
