U.S. Women's Amateur Results
KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. – UC Davis' strong history at the U.S. Women's Amateur championship continued at the Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn., when junior
Yoonhee Kim competed in this prestigious event for the second time in as many seasons.
The San Ramon native shot 72 and 73 during the first two rounds of action to join a group of nine golfers who battled for the final open spot in the Round of 64. In that playoff, Kim recorded par in her first two holes played but was eliminated (as was the case with another six golfers) after two players recorded a birdie on the par-5 11th hole.
Kim's 2018 berth represents the 12th time an Aggie competed in the U.S. Amateur in program history, a list that includes assistant coach Lynne Cowan (2007), Chelsea Stelzmiller (2008, 2009), Alice Kim (2009), Lauren Dobashi (2009, 2011), Demi Runas (2011, 2012) and Amy Simanton (2012). Former Aggie Paige Lee and
Madison Wood, a sophomore on the 2018-19 roster, competed in the U.S. Amateur while in high school.
Available to any female amateur whose USGA Handicap Index is 5.4 or better, the U.S. Amateur consists of two rounds of stroke play during the first two days before the field is whittled down to a 64-competitor match-play bracket.
