IRVINE, Calif. -- Senior attacker Ido Goldschmidt scored four goals while three other Aggies netted two each, helping No. 9 UC Davis break away late in a 14-6 Western Water Polo Association win over Concordia Friday at Northwood High School.

The Aggies improve to 9-4 for the year and remain unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. The Eagles slip to 4-11 overall and 1-2 in WWPA games.

Goldschmidt scored a goal in the first and second quarters, then hit two more in UC Davis' eight-goal fourth frame. Senior Nick Coufal, sophomore Kyle Reilly and freshman Nir Gross each chipped in two goals, while Yurii Hanley, Colter Knight, Riley Venne and Jack Stafford added once apiece for the contest.

For CUI, sophomore driver Patrik Zsiros had two goals.

UC Davis led 2-0 after the first quarter, 4-2 at halftime and 6-4 through the third. The Aggies never trailed in the contest, although Concordia managed to close the gap to a single goal on two occasions: Marius Jakimcikas' goal at 6:10 in the second made it 3-2, while Cristiano Tomassetti's power-play conversion midway through the third narrowed the gap to just 4-3.  Goldschmidt, Knight and Gross scored three unanswered goals in a span of 63 seconds to start the fourth quarter to finally give the Aggies some separation, extending the margin to 9-4. 

UC Davis returns home to host its Alumni Game on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Aggies return to official action at the MPSF Invitational, hosted by Stanford from October 12-14.
