Feb. 21, 2017 LA QUINTA, Calif. - UC Davis senior Ben Corfee fired a 1-under-par 70 to move up 17 places on the individual leaderboard after the second round of action at the Prestige At PGA WEST collegiate golf tournament at the par-71, 7076-yard Greg Norman Course Tuesday. He finished the day in a tie for 24th place, while the Aggies moved to 12th in the overall team standings.
Corfee opened the day with birdies on the 11th and 12th holes, then later rallied to as low as 2-under. He holds a 36-hole total of 144, two strokes above par. Besides Corfee's 70, junior
Evan Knight had the Aggies' low round of the day with his 2-over-par 73. Knight enters Wednesdays' final round with 148 strokes, tied for 39th place along with freshman teammate
Matt Robinson. Junior
Jeremy Sanchez is right behind at 149, good for a tie for 46th place.
Nicolas Noya rounded out the UC Davis team entrants at 11-over 153.

Brandon Baumgarten (t74th, 156) are individual Aggie entrants. Arizona State's Jared duToit claimed sole possession of the medalist lead at 8-under 134. LSU rallied into the lead with a team score of 278 on the second day. The Tigers enter the last round with a total of 569, one stroke up on co-host Stanford and two ahead of San Diego State and Iowa State. The 17th-annual Prestige at PGA WEST concludes on Wednesday.
