Aggie volleyball completes 2015-16 recruiting class

April 25, 2016

DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis head women's volleyball coach Dan Conners completed his 2015-16 recruiting class with the commitments of middle blocker Jackie Graves of Pomona, California; and libero Ally Reyes of Shadow Hills, California. Both prospective student-athletes will enroll at the university in the fall of 2016.

"I'm thrilled to have Jackie and Ally joining our Aggie volleyball family here at Davis," said Conners. "Not only are they incredible talents on the court but they are fantastic young women and excellent students. I am excited to be working with them in the near future."

Graves and Reyes joins Kristen Johansson (Orlando, Florida) and Lauren Matias (Santa Cruz, California) as this fall's freshman class. Johansson and Matias signed national letters of intent during the fall signing period in November.

Standing 6-foot-4, Graves earned All-Hacienda League and San Gabriel Valley All-Area honors for Diamond Ranch High School in each of her junior and senior seasons. As a senior last fall, she posted 183 kills with a .520 average, helping the Panthers to a 21-5 season and a league title. Graves added All-Inland Valley second-team distinction in her final season. In the classroom, her grade-point average of 4.83 qualified her for the National Honor Society for three years and made her one of just five DRHS student-athletes to earn Hacienda League academic honors. Graves plays her club ball for Mavericks VBC, whose 18-1 Black team qualified for the National division in this summer's USAV Junior Nationals.

Reyes helped Village Christian High capture the Southern Section Division 2AA championship last fall. The Crusaders went on to upset Canyon Crest Academy for their first-ever regional championship, one year after finishing as the Southern California runner-up. For her part, Reyes set a school record of 516 digs in 2015, earning her a second consecutive All-Olympic League second-team nod. She posted previous dig totals of 369 and 497 in her two previous seasons, respectively. A Gold Honor Roll student with a 4.1 GPA, Reyes plays her club ball for Los Angeles Volleyball Academy (LAVA) South. Now a member of the 18-1 Adidas squad, she helped her 17 team capture the gold medal at last year's Pacific Northwest national qualifier.

UC Davis posted a 10-6 record in the Big West Conference last year, with a 15-15 overall mark.
