BERKELEY, Calif. - - Emma Redick had an impressive PR while winning the 400-meter hurdles and senior Cekarri Nixon blazed to a first-place finish in the 200 to pace the UC Davis track and field teams at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge at Edwards Stadium on Saturday.

In all, the Aggie women posted three wins after also taking the 4x400 relay.

The Aggies, who also competed on Friday at the Brutus Hamilton Open, had limited competitors during Saturday's meet which also included Cal, Kansas State, UTEP, Utah State and Sacramento State. UC Davis and Sacramento State were not counted in the team scoring.

Redick shined for the Aggies with her showing in the long hurdles. She was timed in 59.17 seconds, edging Tia' Gamble of Kansas State who was second in 59.21. Redick beat her previous best of 1:00.56 set at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in March, jumping two spots to No. 3 on the program's career leaders list and becoming just the fifth person in Aggie history to go under one minute in the event.

Nixon added a first-place finish in the 200 with her winning wind-aided time of 24.18 seconds. She beat Jayla Scholis of Cal (24.40) and Champelle Brown of AUC (24.47) at the top of the final standings. It was Nixon's second-fastest time of the year, only trailing the 23.15 she ran at the Bobcat Invitational.

Redick and Nixon also ran legs on the Aggies' winning 4x100 relay which crossed in 45.63 seconds. Ashley Marshall and Holly Miller were also part of the win.

Ariel Maroon added a second-place showing in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, 11.75 inches, while Katie Barber took third in the high jump (5-7).

The UC Davis men, which competed in just eight events, posted four top-four placings at the meet. Jason Chandler went 52.46 to finish third in the 400 hurdles, barely missing his PR of 52.38 from the Bobcat Invitational. Trevor Ehlenbach jumped a spot to sixth on the all-time 800 chart with his third-place finish (1:50.80). That was faster than his PR of 1:50.98 from last year's Big West Championship.

Ben Parodi added a fourth-place showing in the shot put, posting a mark of 53-8.25, while the 4x400 relay team of Hosea Tate, Brian Thomas, Matt Moreno and Jelani Legion was also fourth (3:14.56).

UC Davis returns to action on Friday when it hosts rival Sacramento State in the annual Causeway Dual.
