Complete 2015 NCAA West Regional Results

SEATTLE -- UC Davis seniors Erika Barr and Trevor Halsted each finished 27th overall in their respective races, helping lead UC Davis to top-15 finishes on Friday afternoon at the 2015 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships at the Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle, Washington.

Off the line first on the day, the Aggies' women's team finished 15th overall and was the second among Big West Conference schools, trailing only conference champion Cal Poly, which was 13th. On the men's side, UC Davis came in 13th place overall and third amongst league schools behind UC Santa Barbara (eighth) and the Mustangs (12th).

Oregon took home team honors on the women's side, edging Boise State by a single point, while the Broncos had the individual winner in Allie Ostrander, who posted a time of 20:10.9. On the men's side, host Washington took home the team title with 63 points, finishing 20 points ahead of Pac-12 rival Stanford, while the Ducks' Edward Cheserek was the 10K winner in a time of 30:43.2.

Halsted posted the second-best finish of his career at a regional meet, crossing in a 10K time of 31:47.0 to place 27th out of 205 competitors, missing out on all-region honors by just under four seconds. He was followed closely by senior Amar Dholakia, who was the first Aggie across the line at last year's regional in Stanford, crossing in 34th place with a time of 31:53.7.

Seniors Cody Nguyen (33:04.8) and Nick Ratto (33:39.1), along with freshman Jordy Ceja (33:44.9), rounded out the scoring group for the Aggies, who made an improvement of six places in the standings as a team following last year's 19th-place finish. It was the best team showing for UC Davis since the 2013 squad placed 13th at Haggin Oaks Golf Course in nearby Sacramento.

Seniors Patrick Fitzgerald (34:00.6) and Jordon Rushing (35:15.8) closed out the meet for the Aggies.

Out of a field of 242 runners on the women's side, Barr crossed the line in a time of 21:16.5 to cut more than 30 seconds off her time at last year's regional in Stanford. She narrowly missed all-region honors (top 25 finishers) by just over three seconds.

Senior Christine Hoffmann was the next Aggie across in the line in 52nd with a time of 21:36.6, while senior Katie Fry was third among UC Davis competitors in 65th with a time of 21:46.9. Senior Nicole Lane (22:18.1) and junior Rianna Goins (22:33.8) rounded out the scoring group for the Aggies, while junior Clara MacLeod crossed in a time of 22:54.1, and freshman Muna Alhamad made her regional debut with a time of 23:11.8.
