WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Austin Graham shot a 3-under 69 to move into a tie for 14th and Tyler Raber and Matt Hansen each carded 70s as the UC Davis men's golf team moved into a three-way tie for eighth after the second day of action at the Amer Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
The Aggies are tied with TCU and No. 48 Oregon at 8-under 568 after shooting a 284 for the second straight day and are five strokes behind No. 24 USC who dropped to seventh after leading Wednesday.
Oklahoma State, ranked fourth nationally, took the lead at 25-under 551 and is seven strokes up on No. 2 UCLA which is second at 558. No. 22 Texas Tech is one stroke back in third at 559 while Georgia Tech and Texas, ranked fifth and seventh respectively, are tied for fourth at 560.
Raber's 70 gives him a two-day total of 140 and moves him up to a tie for 18th while Matt Hansen, who cut his round one score by five strokes, is tied for 59th at 1-over 145. Andrew Haggen, who eagled on the 18th hole, and Matt Seramin each shot 75 on the day and are three over after two rounds.
Oregon's Daniel Miernicki continues to lead with a two-day total of 131, but is followed closely by Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway who is only two strokes back.
Graham moved up seven spots to 14th place in the 114-player field after he birdied on his final two holes and shot three under on the day for a 5-under 144. Despite a bogey on the third hole, Graham hit back-to-back birdies, then stayed even through 11 straight holes until the birdies on the par-4 17th and par-5 18th to close his second round.
Raber shot a steady round that featured 12 pars to finish two under on the day. He bogeyed on the second hole, then carded birdies on the par-5 fourth and par-4 fifth to move to one under before finishing with a birdie on the 18th.
After posting a first round score of 75, Hansen improved by five shots after firing four birdies on his front nine, giving him a 2-under 70 on the day. He bogeyed on the 11th hole but recovered with six straight pars before finishing with a birdie on the 18th.
Haggen's second round was highlighted by the eagle on the par-5 18th as he finished at four over on the day while Seramin shot par on all but two holes to finish his second round with a 3-over 75.
The final round begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Friday, playing alongside Oregon, Stanford and Washington.
