BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The UC Davis men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept a dual meet over Cal State Bakersfield Saturday at the John S. Hillman Aquatic Center in Bakersfield, Calif. The men earned a 170-130 victory while the Aggie women won 153-140.

With the wins, the men's team stays perfect in dual meet competition with a 6-0 record while the women now stand at 4-5 overall. The loss was the first of the season for the Cal State Bakersfield men who drop to 2-1, while the Roadrunner women fall to 1-6.

The Aggie women won seven individual events and the 200 medley relay while the men picked up five individual wins and were first in the 400 free relay.

In the 200 medley relay, UC Davis' Ashley Chandler, Morgan Lee, Kayleigh Foley and Katelyn Griffin combined for a time of 1:49.87 to win the first event of the day.

The Aggie women then swept the top three spots in the 1000 freestyle as Bridget Bugbee, Jodi Hanson and Jen Cadmus placed first, second and third, respectively. Bugbee turned in a time of 10:58.34 while Hanson clocked in at 11:08.92. Cadmus recorded a time of 11:12.10.

Dawson went on to win the 200 freestyle with a season-best time of 1:57.19. Buffy Ajimmura (2:00.05) and Grace Benefield (2:00.11) finished second and third, respectively.

Cal State Bakersfield took wins in the 100 backstroke and the 100 breaststroke, but Linda Hermann snapped the Roadrunners' streak with a win in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:12.42.

Chandler won the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.93 while Lisa Bender came in first in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:28.31. Griffin had a season-best time in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:13.58 and Kayleigh Foley clocked in at 58.97 to finish first in the 100 butterfly.

Daniel Donnelly led the men's side with two individual wins. The senior won the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:49.67 and was first in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 49.93.

Matt Herman gave the Aggie men their first win of the day when he finished first in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:49.63. The Roadrunners won the next three events until Donnelly's victory in the 200 butterfly, but Cal State Bakersfield picked up another win in the 50 freestyle.

Derek Baldwin won the 100 freestyle with a season-best time of 47.55 to get the Aggie men back on track. Scott Weltz and Adam Borchard won back-to-back events in the 200 breaststroke and the 500 freestyle.

Weltz had a time of 2:04.73 in the 200 breast while Borchard recorded a time of 4:36.27 in the 500 free.

Ed Morrison, Adam Yen, Borchard and Baldwin concluded the day with a win in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:07.93.

In diving, Paul Navo swept the men's competition with wins on both boards. The junior earned a 232.73 on the 1-meter board and a 230.63 on the 3-meter board. Jennifer Meyer paced the women with third-place finishes on both boards.

UC Davis returns home for the final dual meets of the season. The Aggies host UC Santa Barbara Friday, Jan. 29 at 1:00 p.m. and UC San Diego Friday, Jan. 30 at 1:00 p.m. Both events will be held at Schaal Aquatics Center.
