2009-10: Competed in eight meets in each of the 500 free and 1,000 free events... Best 500 time was 5:21.44 vs. UC Santa Barbara... Hit season bests in both 1,000 (11:03.83) and 1,650 (18:22.51) at Toshiba Classic.
2008-09: Hit four season-best times at Big West Conference Championships... Earned second swims in both 200 free (1:58.85) and 500 free (5:10.18)... Also competed in 1,000 free (10:40.60) and 1,650 free (17:51.26) at conference meet.
VALLEY CHRISTIAN HS [apos]08: Placed 6th in 500 at Central Coast Section meet in 2005 and 2007... Also finished 12th in that event as a sophomore... Added 16th in 200 free, 5th in 400 free relay at CCS Championship as a freshman, helping VCHS win team title... Lettered three years in water polo, capturing Coaches Award and Elena Compton Award in 2005 and 2006, respectively... Three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honoree... Twice named MVP for DeAnza Cupertino Aquatics.
PERSONAL: Born in Gilroy, Calif.... Majoring in animal science, having chosen UC Davis for its strength in this field... Has career aspirations of becoming an animal trainer... Parents are Jeffrey & Susan Wells... Older sister, Brooke, swam at San Jose State.
