UC DAVIS SWIMMING & DIVING: Advanced to 100 breast final at 2009 Big West Conference Championships, placing 6th at1:04.32 (1:04.03 in prelim)... Added 11th in 50 free (23.87)... Finished 18th in 100 breast, 19th in 100 free, 27th in 50 free at Big West Conference meet in 2008... Posted 1:07.56 in 100 breast bonus final at conference, 9th in school history.

BISHOP O[apos]DOWD HS [apos]07: Selected to All-North Coast Section third team as a senior hole set... Scored more than 60 goals and 100 steals that year, garnering Alameda Contra Costa Athletic League Co-MVP distinction... Also captured All-Hayward Area Athletic League honors in swimming... Also earned NISCA/Speedo All-Academic honors.

PERSONAL: Born in Oakland, Calif.... Majoring in English... Parents are Kai and Maria Bender... Career highlight was winning NISCA All-Academic honors... Hopes for a career in criminal psychology.
