DALY CITY, Calif. -- Sophomore Austin Graham and junior Brent Booth each shot par-72 during the final round of the NCAA Division I West Regional on Saturday as the No. 26 UC Davis men's golf team finished 13th, bringing to a close one of its most successful seasons ever.

The Aggies, who earned a berth in the Div. I national championships in just their second year at the Div. I level, shot a 2-over 290 on Saturday at the 6,849-yard Lake Merced Golf Club, ending the 54-hole tournament at 9-over 873.

Freshman Tyler Raber fired a 73 in the last round, tying for 43rd place at 2-over 218 and leading the Aggies on the final leaderboard. Nate Pistacchio, who along with fellow senior Ramie Sprinkling played their last rounds after spectacular careers, also had a 73 and tied for 48th at 3-over.

Graham tied for 51st at 4-over, Sprinkling had a final-round 76 and tied for 57th at 5-over, and Booth was 65th at 7-over.

Fourteenth-ranked Arizona State blitzed the course for a three-day total of 36-under 828, beating No. 35 Oregon by nine shots. Twelfth-ranked Texas A&M was third at 24-under, unranked San Diego took fourth at 15-under and No. 2 USC ended in fifth at 11-under.

The top five teams qualified for the NCAA Finals at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio beginning on May 26 while BYU's Brady Johnson, who tied for fifth at 8-under 208, advances as the top individual not on a qualifying team.

The tournament closed a tremendous season for UC Davis which was consistently ranked in the top 30 throughout the season. The Aggies won three tournaments - the Kansas Invitational, the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, and the Big West Championship - finished second three times and were in the top 10 in all but two events.

Addtionally, Graham was a three-time medalist, Sprinkling won two times and Pistacchio tied for first at The Prestige at PGA WEST, helping the Aggies add to their impressive season. All three players were named to the All-Big West Conference first team while Cy Williams was named the Coach of the Year.

"Overall, it was an amazing season," Williams said. "We had one of the most successful seasons so far in the history of the program. We have to be proud of that."

Williams also lauded the careers of Pistacchio and Sprinkling.

"We'll miss them," he said. "They've been a big part of our program. They'll be irreplaceable and will very much missed."

UC Davis opened the regional with a 13-over 298 on Thursday but shot a 3-under 285 yesterday to move into a tie for 10th. The Aggies finished one shot behind Kansas State and three back of Big West rival UC Irvine in the final standings.

Graham had his best round of the regional on Saturday, opening with a birdie on his first hole and then adding two more on his front nine to help him make the turn at 1-under. He had two more birdies on the back along with four pars and three bogeys to reach par for the round.

Booth shot par thanks to a back nine which he played 1-under. A birdie on the par-4 2nd - his 11th hole of the round - put him back to even while consecutive birdies on his final two holes took him in at even.

Raber had four birdies in his 1-over round, including two on his back nine which he played to par, while Pistacchio posted two birdies and 13 pars for his 73. Sprinkling had a pair of birdies to help highlight his final round as an Aggie.
