FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - For the second consecutive day, junior Heidi Kucera and sophomore Amanda Holman earned "B" final appearances to help lead UC Davis during the second day of the Husky Invitational at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center Friday.
The Aggies sit 12th after the second day with 273 points. Nationally-ranked USC continues to lead overall with 1751 points.
Holman made the "B" finals in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.50, which bettered her prelim time by .15 seconds. Kucera's "B" final was in the 100 breaststroke with her prelim time of 1:03.90, which left her just shy of the school record. She finished 10th overall, placing second in the "B" final. The duo were also members of the top finishing UC Davis relay teams.
Freshmen Jodi Hanson and Kayleigh Foley and sophomore Rebecca Koch were the top UC Davis finishers in the 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, respectively.
In the relay events, the Aggies placed sixth in the 200 medley (1:48.58) and seventh in the 800 free (7:55.90).
UC Davis will only compete in the prelims during tomorrow's final day of the invite. They will travel back to Davis early to give the team extra time to study for final exams.
