Complete Results from Husky Invitational
BREMERTON, Wash. -- The UC Davis men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Husky Invitational at the Gold Mountain Golf Complex after rain and wind on Tuesday morning cancelled the final round of the 54-hole tournament hosted by the University of Washington.
Darkness suspended play on Monday evening with two groups needing to finish one hole. Those six players completed their second round on Tuesday morning and the entire field began third-round play. However, weather forced the stoppage of play a couple of hours into the round and the remainder of the tournament was cancelled. Final scores were based upon 36-hole totals.
UC Davis finished eighth after a pair of 302 team scores on Monday and were led by senior Matt Marshall who tied for fifth at 1-over 145. Junior Ramie Sprinkling had a 71 in Monday's second round and ended in a tie for 17th at 149. Nate Pistacchio tied for 50th at 156 while Brent Booth and Austin Graham each had 157 and tied for 54th.
Oregon State won the tournament with a 9-over score of 9-over 576. Host Washington was second, 10 shots back, and was followed by Pepperdine (595) and Oregon (596). San Diego State and Cal tied fof fifth at 597.
Thirteen teams were entered in the event in which UC Davis took third last season.
The Aggies will return to the course next Monday at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted by Cal. UC Davis will co-host The Prestige at PGA WEST with Stanford on Oct. 15-16 at La Quinta, Calif.
