The Aggies clawed their way back, then took a 20-18 lead on a block by Paschetta and sophomore Kelly Patterson. Tiger freshman Masha Vaysburg tied the game on a block at 22-22 then a kill at 24-24, before UC Davis began to pull away. Senior Nicole Read served out the match, picking up an ace to set up a 29-25 game point.
In Game 2, Aggie setter Katelyn Astruc posted a kill and a block during a 5-0 run that gave UC Davis a 13-8 edge. Read later knocked down three straight kills to bump that lead to 18-9. The Tigers fought back to a 19-15 deficit, capitalizing on three Aggie attacking errors, and later moved within a 25-23 margin behind Tomaszewska's service ace. UC Davis found its stride, as Paschetta ripped out a kill then served up an ace to allow the Aggies to take a 2-0 lead in games.
The Tigers grabbed the momentum in Game 3, rolling out to an 11-4 lead. UC Davis battled back to ties of 14-14 and 16-16 before Pacific again pulled away. Vaysburg and Anderson teamed up on a block to give the Tigers a 23-20 lead, then an Aggie miscue stretched the advantage to four points. Again, UC Davis fought back to a 25-25 tie on a Read kill. Erickson's successful tipped tied the game at 28-28 and Paschetta's slam down the middle fell untouched at 29-29.
The Aggies covered two potential Pacific blocks before Paschetta's deep shot caromed off the Tiger defense and into the Aggie stands for a 30-29 match point. Nevertheless, Anderson answered with two kills in a run of three straight points to give Pacific a 32-30 win in Game 3, preventing the sweep.

Anderson pounded out a pair of kills to help streatch that lead to 14-11, but UC Davis made its way back and eventually tied the game at 18-18 on Astruc's timely ace. The Tigers responded with a run of six unanswered points, then later scored four straight to close out the fourth game and tie the match at two games apiece.
Aggie senior Rachel Keener scored two early kills to give her team an early lead in the fifth game, but MimMack's offense allowed Pacific to regain its footing and take a 8-5 lead at the changeover. UC Davis fought back to a 9-9 tie, getting help from Read's ace and a key block by Patterson and Paschetta. Each team played to ties at 11-11, 12-12, 13-13 and 14-14 until Tomaszewska and Vaysburg combined on the Tigers' 16th team block. The Tigers picked up the match-winner as the Aggies' last-ditch attempt to retie the game sailed long.
This is the second time in two weeks that UC Davis has allowed an opponent to come back from a 2-0 deficit en route to a five-game win. UC Irvine won in similar fashion at the Pavilion back on September 24.
The Aggies return to action on Saturday at Cal State Northridge.
