DAVIS, Calif. — Following an impressive performance at the UC Riverside Invitational, Dominic McMahon has been named the Mountain West Men's Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference office.

The UC Davis freshman paced the Aggies for the second consecutive race, setting a new 8k personal record with a time of 24:17.9—shaving 36.1 seconds off his team-leading collegiate debut performance two weeks prior at the USF Invitational (24:54.0). McMahon steadily worked through the field over the course, climbing 15 spots from 45th place at the 2k split to secure a 30th-place finish overall.

McMahon becomes the first Aggie to earn a Mountain West weekly honor, marking a historic first for the program in its inaugural season in the conference.
