RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Building off their team-leading performances at the season opener,
Peyton Adams and
Dominic McMahon once again paced UC Davis cross country as the Aggies competed against a stacked regional field at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning. Adams set a new 6k PR to anchor the women to 14th overall, while McMahon led the men to a 17th-place team performance with a top-30 finish.
ON THE COURSE (WOMEN'S 6K)
- Peyton Adams turned in a premier performance for the Aggie women, chopping nearly 47 seconds off her personal best to cross the finish line in 20:39.3 and place 13th overall.
- Brooke Butler provided strong support near the front, securing 27th place with a time of 20:48.2, also setting a new personal best.
- In total, six women posted new personal-best times as the scoring pack closed out the team effort with UC Davis collecting 375 points to finish 14th in a 30-team field.
ON THE COURSE (MEN'S 8K)
- Freshman Dominic McMahon set the tone for the men's squad for the second consecutive meet, knocking over 36 seconds off his collegiate debut time. McMahon covered the 8k course in a personal-record 24:17.9 to secure a top-30 finish overall.
- In total, six men posted new personal-best times as the remaining scoring group packed up to pull UC Davis to a 17th-place team finish with 440 points against a 25-team field.
