UC Davis Welcomes Jordan Carr as New Assistant Field Hockey Coach

DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis Field Hockey is strengthening its coaching staff with the addition of Assistant Coach Jordan Carr, a decorated former student-athlete and national champion. Carr brings a pedigree of championship success and a strong record of developing talent at the highest collegiate levels.

"We are super excited to have Jordan joining our coaching staff," said Field Hockey Head Coach Austin Pile. "Her experiences as a player who competed in four straight national championships and as a former high school and club coach give her incredible insights and first-hand knowledge to draw from… We are eager to see the impact she makes on our program as she gets to work with the team."

Carr arrives in Davis after coaching at Saint Joseph's University in early 2026, where she orchestrated individual coaching sessions and led technical drills. She brings a diverse coaching background to the Aggie program, having previously served as a coach for Northwestern University and mentored young athletes through high-level club programs like Jersey Intensity and Windy City Field Hockey. Additionally, Carr spent four years as a volunteer assistant coach at Point Pleasant Borough High School from 2021 to 2025, helping guide the program to multiple conference and divisional titles.

"The culture at Davis drew me in right away, as both the hockey team and athletic department value developing strong human beings as well as striving for competitive excellence," Carr said. "As a coach who strives to combine joy with intent, Davis felt like the perfect place for me to begin my coaching career."

Prior to her transition to the sidelines, Carr enjoyed a standout playing career at Northwestern University, where she was a key contributor to the Wildcats' 2021 NCAA Division I National Championship run. During her time in Evanston, she helped lead the program to three consecutive national championship game appearances and a Big Ten title. Most recently, Carr competed as a graduate student-athlete at Saint Joseph's University, helping lead the Hawks to an Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship and a 2024 NCAA National Championship game appearance.

"I'm excited to contribute in any way that I can while also learning from my colleagues and the outstanding young women that I have the opportunity to work with," Carr added. "Davis is a place with such heart, and I'm grateful to be joining the community."

Carr graduated from Northwestern in 2024 with degrees in English Literature and Psychology and earned her Master of Science in Secondary Education from Saint Joseph's in 2026.
