AZUSA, Calif. – The UC Davis Track and Field team concluded its Southern California road swing on Saturday, April 18, at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Highlighting the final day of competition, Zach Jones took first place in the 100m Dash as the Aggies secured eleven top-10 finishes to close out the weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED (MEN)
Zachary Jones provided the performance of the day on the track, sprinting to a first-place finish in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.62. Jones also anchored the men's 4x100m relay team featuring
Jacob Beals,
Erik Erdiakoff, and
Riley Leyva, which clocked a 41.24 to secure an eighth-place finish overall.
In the throwing events,
Jake Joerger earned two top-10 placements, taking eighth in the Discus (48.47m) and ninth in the Shot Put Invite section.
Logan Brantley followed suit in the Shot Put Open section, finishing seventh with a toss of 15.29m.
HOW IT HAPPENED (WOMEN)
The Aggie women saw strong performances in the vertical jumps as
Daisy Penney and
Atianna Marquez finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the Pole Vault after both cleared 3.80m. In the Shot Put,
Maya Ifo-Desai earned a fifth-place finish with a mark of 13.29m and placed 10th in the Discus (44.96m).
In the Long Jump,
Kadidja Sangare took seventh in the Invite section with a leap of 5.83m, while
Riley Lankford placed seventh in the Open section with a mark of 5.66m.
UP NEXT: The Aggies return home to host Sacramento State for the Causeway Classic Dual on Friday, April 24.
