MILWAUKEE, Wisc. — A career-high five goals from
Rhea Cosand led UC Davis lacrosse to an eight goal second half against Marquette on Monday, Mar. 23. A 7-0 run through the third and fourth quarter tied the game at 12, but the Golden Eagles would get the game winner and hold on for a 13-12 win.

OPENING DRAW
- Cosand's five goals breaks her previous record of four, which she last set against Davidson in 2024.
- Emily Altshuler also picked up a career-high in goal with 11 saves.
- Six draw controls from Annie Cimperman put her at 205 in her career. She becomes just the third Aggie all-time to record 200 or more draw controls.
- Defensively, Hailey Dommers stayed busy all afternoon, tying a career-high four caused turnovers.
- Ava Horrocks was the second multi-goal scorer for the Aggies with two goals, also adding two assists for four points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Golden Eagles opened the game on a 4-0 run, the Aggies got on the board with a man-advantage goal from Horrocks to close the first period.
- On a free position attempt, Cami Johnson cut into the lead with a score.
- As Horrocks scored her second of the day, Marquette matched each Aggie goal to hold a 7-3 lead halfway through the second quarter.
- Off an assist from Johnson, Cosand scored her first of the day with two minutes left in the half as the road team found themselves down 4-8 at the break.
- Despite a goal from Holly Smith, the Golden Eagles came out strong to start the second half with a 4-1 run through the first eight minutes of action to go up 12-5.
- With just under 20 minutes of action left, Cosand rallied the Aggie offense with two quick scores to secure a hat trick and cut the deficit to five heading into the fourth.
- On the first possession of the final period, she took a pass to Jane Fox for her first goal as the home team lead was cut to four.
- Audrey Carr joined in on the fun, preceding goals four and five for Cosand that set her career-high and put her team back within one.
- As the clock read five minutes left in regulation, Catie McCauley got on the board off Cosand's second assist, her seventh point, to tie things up at 12 apiece.
- With under three minutes remaining, Marquette responded with a goal to retake the lead.
- The final possession for the Aggies would come up empty, as the team would fall 12-13 in their non-conference finale.
