NIPOMO, Calif. — UC Davis men's golf's
Shaun Nair opened the new year in the winner's circle, firing a three-round total of 7-under-par 206 to claim the 2026 Nipomo Amateur title at Monarch Dunes Golf Course on Sunday.
Nair closed the 16th annual Nipomo Amateur with an even-par 71 to hold off runner-up Adam Anderson by two strokes.
The victory serves as a strong start to 2026 for Nair, who built his lead on the strength of stellar play over the first two days. He opened the tournament Friday with a 3-under 68 and followed it with a 4-under 67 on Saturday to separate himself from the field.
In Sunday's final round, Nair remained steady under pressure, rallying with critical birdies on the fifth, eighth, and ninth holes to finish at 7-under 206.
Nair will look to carry this momentum into the spring collegiate season, where the Aggies resume their 2025-26 campaign Feb. 5-7 at the Amer Ari Invitational, hosted at the Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii.
