THE SHORT STORY: UC Davis took a first-half lead on a goal from Cason Goodman, but San José State responded with two second-half goals to earn a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night at Aggie Soccer Field.

- Goodman gave UC Davis the early advantage in the 18th minute, finishing off a feed from Lillington to make it 1-0
- Schwengeler made three first-half saves, including key stops in the 22nd and 32nd minutes, to preserve the lead at halftime
- After the break, the Spartans equalized in the 68th minute when Daniel Fregoso Bautista converted off a Cameron Cook assist
- San José State pulled ahead six minutes later on a goal from Arnold Matshazi, also assisted by Cook
- UC Davis pushed late with shots from Gabriel Haggerty and Nami Banks, plus a final corner kick, but could not find the equalizer
